🏡 La “Métairie des Gâcheries” is an estate comprising 4 cosy holiday cottages with a swimming pool in the Dordogne, classified 3⭐️⭐️⭐️ furnished tourist accommodation. Set in a refined and peaceful environment with remarkable views, it is surrounded by hillsides and forests. The property is located near Champagne and Fontaines, in the beautiful, quiet countryside of the Périgord Vert. Set within a large green space, the estate will charm you with its comfort and offers a relaxing stay for the whole family: a large, secure swimming pool 🏊‍♀️ with a sunny terrace and sun loungers, as well as lovely outdoor areas with children’s play areas.

🌸 On warm summer evenings, you can enjoy your private terrace, as well as the patio and the raised terrace with its fire pit (brasero) in the inner courtyard. 

🛏️ Bed linen, towels, and a kitchen & cleaning starter kit (sponge, tea towels, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, floor cleaner, etc.) are provided. If needed, a baby cot and high chair are available free of charge, upon request.

🎯 At your disposal: parking, a boules court, table tennis, bicycles (including a tandem!), a child bike seat, children’s play equipment such as swings, slide and trampoline, plus indoor playrooms with a ball pit, football pitch, and more.

♿️ Three of the cottages are suitable for guests with reduced mobility, with accessible bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. The swimming pool is also adapted, with an access ramp.

🐶 Pets (dogs and cats) are welcome on request, with a small additional charge 🐱

🌻 Special emphasis has been placed on ecology and environmental preservation. Everything is organised to reduce energy consumption while ensuring maximum comfort (waste sorting, composting, water-saving devices, energy-efficient light bulbs, etc.).

🥾 A walking and cycling path runs alongside the property, perfect for beautiful outings. Numerous visits in the Périgord Vert (caves, castles, truffle or Cognac museums, abbeys…) and outdoor activities (canoeing, lakes, treetop adventure parks…) are nearby. Historic towns and cities such as Brantôme en Périgord (the “Venice of the Périgord”), Nontron (capital of cutlery), Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, Villebois-Lavalette, Cognac, Périgueux and Angoulême are close by. And just over an hour away: Lascaux, Sarlat, La Roque-Gageac, Les Eyzies, Bergerac, or to the west, Royan and the Atlantic coast 🏰

🦆 In addition to traditional and farmers’ markets during the season, truffle and foie gras markets from November to February are sure to delight you. In autumn, it is also mushroom season, highly prized in our region. To welcome you properly, a welcome gift will be offered — something to delight food lovers!
